Not every business has the budget or the wall space for a second screen. SignOS's zone-based playback splits a single physical display into multiple independent regions, each running its own playlist.
Horizontal and vertical splits
Split the screen however you need: side by side (left-right) or stacked (top-bottom). A cafe, for example, can show a fixed menu on the left while rotating promotional images and videos play on the right.
Typical use cases
- Menu + promotion: a fixed price list next to a promotional video.
- Main content + ticker: a scrolling news or announcement strip along the bottom zone.
- Dual-brand areas: two separate zones for two brands or categories sharing one screen.
Each zone runs independently
One zone can play video while another shows an image slideshow; each zone has its own schedule and playlist, and a change in one zone doesn't affect the other.
How to set it up
In the SignOS dashboard, open the screen's settings, choose split mode (horizontal or vertical), and assign a separate playlist to each zone - the display applies the change on its next content refresh.
Combine zone-based playback with scheduled tasks to run different content flows in each zone at different times of day. For a much larger display surface, check out our video wall option.
