Following the right order when setting up a brand-new Samsung commercial display prevents most of the "no internet" or "app won't launch" issues down the line. Here is the full setup flow, from unboxing to installing SignOS.
1. The first-run setup wizard
The first power-on greets you with a wizard for language, region, date/time and network. Always keep the date/time set to automatic (network) - a wrong clock delays scheduled content and campaigns.
2. Network connection
A wired (Ethernet) connection is preferred whenever possible. If you must use Wi-Fi, test the signal strength at the exact spot where the display will be mounted.
3. Choose the player mode
Commercial Samsung displays typically offer two paths: installing a player app from the built-in store, or using URL Launcher to open a web address in full screen. SignOS supports both, but for the most reliable experience we recommend installing the native SignOS Digital Signage app.
4. Install SignOS and pair the screen
Once network and clock are set, follow our Samsung Tizen / SSSP installation guide to install SignOS and pair it from the dashboard.
5. Auto power-on after an outage
Lock Auto Power On and Default Source to the SignOS app in the settings menu, so the display keeps playing content automatically even after an overnight power cut.
